Meet the Active Members

The CWW
The Creative Writing Workshop committee, or CWW for short, is a committee dedicated to all things creative writing. Every other week, we hold writing sessions wherein we delve deeper into either a form or a theme, and every period we host a workshop to give you some hands-on experience with writing. Whether you would like to learn more, spend some time writing, meet likeminded individuals, or just have a biscuit and some tea while hearing us talk, the CWW is there to help you in your creative endeavours. Some of the topics in the works for this year are fanfiction writing, how to get your work published, and the Gothic.

The DramaCo
Andy, Charlie, and Jonah are the heads of the DramaCo, leading the association’s very own theatre group: The Understudies! Every year, we organise a Comedy Sketch Night before the Christmas break and a big play at the end of the year. All year round we plan weekly rehearsals, maintain a steady presence on social media and guide our actors, writers and technicians to put out their best work acting, writing a script, gathering props, and figuring out the lighting. We make sure the Understudies members can continue their work as smooth as possible, taking care of the budget, the logistics and the smooth sailing of the committee.

The T.E.A. Times
Hi everyone, we are the T.E.A. Times! As a committee, we write around 4 magazines every year with different themes each time. You can read all our magazines on this website or collect them in the open room when they are published. Our team consists mostly of members of English Studies (ELC), but we have some members of American studies too this year! We love to see it and everyone is welcome in this committee. At the T.E.A. Times, you get to decide what you write, as long as it adheres to the theme, so you can talk about everything you're passionate about!

The IncluC
Hi! We are the IncluC, made up by Boris, Annemarie and Lisa. As a committee, we organise activities regarding inclusivity, such as LGBTQIA+ themed events, mental health themed events, events discussing (invisible) disabilities, and more. Apart from organising these lovely activities, we also try to look into how we can increase inclusivity within T.E.A. and ELC, as we want to consider being inclusive in terms of finances and societal contexts as well. We hope to organise some amazing events for you, see you there!

The PacCo
Hi there! We're Milou, Quinten, Bloem, Jesper, María, and Clara, and we are the PacCo this year! We organise all kinds of fun activities and parties throughout the year, such as the Halloween Party, the Movie Night, and the Family Day. Keep an eye on the agenda to see what we have in store for you this year. See you soon!
Greetings, the PacCo

The PubCo
Pleasure to meet you. We are the Pubquiz Committee! We host evenings where students get together for a good time at the local pub, getting their knowledge tested on all kinds of topics. Think of the Roman Empire, space, mythology, cheese, Eurovision, Shrek; everything is possible! Our pubquiz evenings are known for their fun, informal, gezellige and sometimes a teeny tiny bit of unhinged energy, so don’t hesitate to join for a guaranteed great time. Better yet, you could join our awesome committee and enjoy our many benefits; for example, creating wonderful friendships and having a way to implement your special interests or arbitrary fun facts into a pubquiz for your fellow students! We will see you soon :)

Signed,
Jorik, Myrthe, Eva, Sofie, Krijn, and Logan

The StuCo
The StuCo (Study Committee) will support you in the most troublesome times of all… the exam periods!
The StuCo members are students from ELC and AS so they can make sure all courses are covered. The StuCo members for T.E.A. this year are (from left to right) Milou, Iris, and Daaf. Together with the committee members from USA Nijmegen, they’ll do their best to get you through your exams.
So what does the StuCo do? They host crash courses (a Stuco) during the exam period so you can catch up with all the exam content right before the exam. The StuCo tries to cover as many courses as they can and are supported by enthusiastic students who teach the Stucos.
StuCo members figure out what courses require Stucos and will find students who can teach them. Besides that, the StuCo tries to help with other study related activities, like hosting question hours or attending study sessions. So if you’re in need of study help, join a Stuco or contact the committee!

The TravelCo
The TravelCo is the committee that organizes the biggest and greatest event of the year: the study trip! We are here to make sure you have an awesome week somewhere on the British Isles.
Every year we include very fun activities. For example last year we went to Glasgow and visited the beautiful campus of Glasgow University, took a relaxing nature walk around Loch Lomond with an incredible view, lived our Harry Potter dreams in Alnwick Castle and we had the opportunity to get a tour through a whiskey distillery and even have a small Scottish whiskey tasting!
We make sure you don’t have to worry about how to get there and where that ‘there’ may be. We look forward to seeing you on our study trip, which will this year be in -redacted-!

The WeekendCo
Hi there, we are WeekendCo. As members of WeekendCo we are in charge of organising our yearly members-weekend; the Wicked Weekend! (The best weekend of the year if you ask us).
This weekend creates the perfect opportunity to have fun and connect with your fellow association members. During the weekend members will take part in many fun games and activities, team-based competitions and enjoy food and drinks, which all revolves around the weekend’s theme. The committee members choose a different theme for the weekend each year, so we will let our creativity roam free to create a fun weekend for everyone!
As a member of WeekendCo, your role is to insure a successful Wicked Weekend! This includes tasks such as finding correct accommodation, transport to the location, preparing food and coming up with activities, all within budget.
We are looking forward to hosting a fun weekend for you all, so hopefully we will see you at our next TEAkend!

The YearbookCo
Hi everyone,
This year I'm going to be the Yearbook Committee (with the help of the board). I'll try to be at every event organised by the association. The Yearbook Co takes pictures of the events and activities and later write a bit about them for everyone to look back on later. We also collect quotes from T.E.A. members throughout the year, so beware >:) (kidding, by all means, send me the silly stuff your friends have said!).
At the end of the year, we put everything together with profiles of our beloved T.E.A. members into a beautiful yearbook :D
Love,
Stella
